Today was rainy and cold.  We wore jackets and drank tea all day to keep warm.  The power was off for over two hours today so did not have anything hot for lunch.  Was thankful that I did have cheese and crackers to eat for lunch.  We did have a nice hot breakfast of mealie porridge for breakfast.  It was a good meal on a cold morning.

Eating and enjoying the picnic.

We stayed home today and Larry worked on the plans for the antenna expansion.  He tried to download a program that he could use for the drawings, but was unable to.  I think the slow internet was part of the problem.

We had a quiet and uneventful day.  Here are some more picture of the picnic on Thursday.

  1. It seems that after I publish a post, all the photos do their own thing. The published version never looks like the draft.

  2. Would you like Greg to download that software and mail it to you in a flash.
    drive?

    • Cal, the internet is so slow, here, we barely get email. The Administrator of the McGuire Clan site may have something that will help. 🙂 Thanks!. If I change my mind, I’ll let you know. It is looking good right now. I think an angel touched it 🙂

      • Oops, just realized what you were talking about, Cal. I had just read something else, so I was thinking about the photos on the blog. Now I realize that you were actually talking about a program for Larry.

    • Cal,
      I would like a program to do mechanical drawings. I use Draft Sight a work, since AutoCad is too expensive for my light use. Actually I sucessfully downloaded Draft Sight on my laptop here, but discovered that it only works on Windows 7 or 10 (not my computer which is Vista). I then found a website that said their Draft Sight version was good for XP and Vista computers, but when I downloaded it I found the link was actually for the latest version of Draft Sight, which did not solve the problem. I’ll try to see if TWR would be willing to download it on one of their newer computers.

  3. Dear Oma;
    Are there any little girls there that like to play soccer? Do they wear cleats or play barefoot. Daddy said he used to play barefoot.

    Love,
    Megan

    • Megan, I have not seen anyone playing soccer this time! I am surprised! It seems like the little girls I know are riding bikes. They ride in races all the time. kind of like running cross-country except with bikes!

  4. What did you put in your mealie porridge? I like putting raisins and nuts in mine.
    Love,
    Andrea

  5. We didn’t ‘dress up’ our mealie porridge. We just had butter and sugar. We had cinnamon but didn’t add any. Raisins and nuts would be very good.
